Are “more of the same” and “the change we need” cliches to you? For many people they are not.
We are in urgent need of a president who has the intellectual ability to understand the complex issues in today’s world. We need a president with vision. We need a president who inspires us and deepens our hope that the world can be a better place.
This is why Republican Colin Powell called Barack Obama a transformational figure. This is why William Buckley’s son, Chris Buckley said of Obama, that he has “the potential to be a good, perhaps even great leader. He is, it seems clear enough, what the historical moment seems to be calling for.”
This is what William Weld, former Republican governor of Massachusetts said: “Senator Obama is a once in a lifetime candidate who will transform our politics and restore America's standing in the world”..... he has the “intelligence, calm temperament, and ability to unite.”
This is why 65 of our country’s greatest minds and the largest number of Nobel Laureates ever have endorsed Barack Obama to be our next president.
The list goes on and on and if you want to see for yourself, navigate over to Wikipedia and you will see that the list of endorsements for Barrack Obama are almost four times the size as John McCain’s list.
There is a movement of enthusiasm sweeping the nation. After eight years of president Bush, our country is about to turn around. We are on the verge of electing a man of mixed race to be our president. Barack Obama will represent all of us. His election will also raise a beacon of hope for the rest of the world. If you doubt this, talk to anyone who has traveled out of the country.
We need this change. We cannot continue in the direction we have been going. We need to find our place again. On November 4th vote with your mind and your heart.

this what we will get with Obama
"Trinity United Church of Christ adopted the Black Value System written by the Manford Byrd Recognition Committee chaired by Vallmer Jordan in 1981. We believe in the following 12 precepts and covenantal statements. These Black Ethics must be taught and exemplified in homes, churches, nurseries and schools, wherever Blacks are gathered. They must reflect on the following concepts:
1. Commitment to God
2. Commitment to the Black Community
3. Commitment to the Black Family
4. Dedication to the Pursuit of Education
5. Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence
6. Adherence to the Black Work Ethic
7. Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect
8. Disavowal of the Pursuit of "Middleclassness"
9. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the Black Community
10. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting Black Institutions
11. Pledge allegiance to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System
12. Personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value System."
Now if anyone put white there instead of black.
1. Commitment to God
2. Commitment to the White Community
3. Commitment to the White Family
4. Dedication to the Pursuit of Education
5. Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence
6. Adherence to the White Work Ethic
7. Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect
8. Disavowal of the Pursuit of "Middleclassness"
9. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the White Community
10. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting White Institutions
11. Pledge allegiance to all White leadership who espouse and embrace the White Value System
12. Personal commitment to embracement of the White Value System.
The question is rhetorical, of course. The answer is that such a candidate wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell of getting elected dog catcher (apologies to America's animal rescue and public safety personnel) let alone President, because that candidate would be instantly branded a racist, among the most vile and frightening of white supremacists.
I wouldn't VOTE for any person with beliefs like this. Weather they be black, white purple or green. Would you?
What I miss most is having a president who honors the office by his behavior and bearing. A president who is intelligent and who will attract bright and hardworking people who understand the problems that face us and who will create sane domestic and foreign policies. A president who uses lanquage eloquently and with clear intent. A patient person who understands that taking time for study and analysis of complex issues is critical for forming policy. A president who uses humor and wit. I believe that Barack Obama is the person who best embodies these qualities and is the leader we need for these challeging times.

I have been traveling quite a bit lately to Chile, Argentina and South Africa. It is quite interesting to talk to citizens of those countries about the presidential race here in the U.S. The people that I spoke with consider John McCain to be too war-like to be a good president. Of course, it is well known that people outside the U.S. also consider our present administration to be a danger to the world because of its repeated use of the military. They believe that John McCain’s foreign policy will be similar to George Bush’s policy with more emphasis placed on the military instead of diplomacy.
Several people expressed amazement that an African American could be a serious candidate for president. There is no doubt in my mind that the global image of the U.S. will change for the better if Obama is elected.
